Hill Top Show Horses
Challenge – Inclement weather restricted riding
Solution – Hercules Truss Arch Building
Size – 65′ wide x 130′ long
Application – Indoor riding arena
The bitter winds, cold conditions and snowstorms of a New England winter can take a toll on businesses that operate outdoors. Looking to cover an existing outdoor riding area, Danielle Courtemanche, owner of Hill Top Show Horses in Derby Line, Vermont, realized a ClearSpan Hercules Truss Arch Building was exactly what she was looking for.
With the new indoor arena, weather is no longer a problem. Cold or rainy days that used to prohibit riding no longer do so, essentially making every day ideal for riding. “We can ride and store things inside without rain, snow or wind. It’s great,” says Courtemanche.
In addition to using the arena for training purposes, it also serves as storage for riding-related equipment. When needed, the tractor trailer that is used to haul sawdust and bark chips is stored inside the building. According to Courtemanche, the structure has also doubled as a garage, “My husband also uses it to get out of the weather to work on his truck.”
Courtemanche found that although the structure was large, the price was not—“It’s a great buy and you won’t be disappointed.” She continues, “It’s just a great building that was easy to put up and the people stand behind their product.”
